CREDITON CHARITY REPORT 17TH AND 18TH JULY
Last weekend SouthWest Motocross Club ran a two day meeting for charity raising and club championships.
The tiverton venues paddock had been laid out with a funfair ride, do-nut stall and classic bike display as well as
the usual trade stalls. A hog roast was also laid on for the competitors on Saturday evening .
The Bigwheel boys were first to race on the naturaly watered red soil track.Jamie Buckingham hit the front at turn one
with Harry Hart and fellow fourstroke rider Josh Beer next. Buckingham and Hart raced away from the rest neither giving
an inch until the chequered flag .This was to be the format for the rest of the weekend Harry taking the overall by a
single point from Jamie with Josh Beer rounding out the top three over the two days.Dan Foster, Luke Whiteman
and Aiden King next.
Auto Rider Tyler Rowe looked in control and was only headed home in one race by young Louie Kessell.
Jordan Hayman was another rider who generaly had the better of his close rival Morgan Timms to take the
last podium position.Sam Hunt and Archie Bees each had one good day and finished in the top six.
The Juniors had some excellent battles at the front between Louie Thomas and overall winner Matt Treen.
Matt was the only Junior to clear the double sometimes passing riders well above their heads ! Another rider to take
2 wins was Aiden Williams finishing in front of Todd Sawyer and Lucy Calvert. Henry Bees improved on Sunday and clinched
fifth overall.
Small Wheel riders Dean Symons and Dan Mundell shared the wins and the holeshots over the two days.
New four stroke rider Callum Hawkins took a couple of third place finishes and the final podium position.
Harvey Jones had the better of Reegan West on Sunday who in turn was in the close company of Kieiron York.
Four Senior Wins from the six races Gave Jamie Orchard the top podium position from the ever improving young Jack Stevens
who only once was out of the top four,and won race 3. Josh Taylor put his 2 stroke at the front for a few laps and
had some intense battles with Jack Blackburn along the way to take 3rd overall.Ben wills had a great 3rd and other
consistant rides in 5th,Ryan Parker 6th.
Open class rider Dan Wyatt could have won all his races,although even when riding a 80's CR500 he only dropped 2 points !
Top runners crashes and dnf's helped Garath Bunby to 2nd and Jon Beer's consistancy paid off with a podium position.
Aaron Wain kept pushing behind the bigger bikes and grabbed 4th in front of commitee man Jon Jones and Geoff Brigden.
There were many Sunday only riders who raced well in every group to improve their points tally for the club championships.
