Crediton 3rd Winter Series Race Report 24.01.2010
South West Motocross Club continued its winter series with round 3 at a soft and very muddy Crediton circuit.
Out first were the autos,on a shortened half grass circuit to enable all 11 of these gutsy little riders the chance of a real race.Louis Townsend,clinched the overall with 2 race wins,Ryan Mundell took the other win and second overall,closely followed by Tyler Rowewho finished third in every race .A dnf in race 1 relegated Declan Roden to 6th despite taking a pair of second places.
Visiting junior rider Harry Pritchard took the honours,but was chased hard by Jack Booker who claimed the win in race two and third overall .Mr consistant Aiden Williams finished second overall .Matt Treen and Dan Roberts were tied on points for forth and fifth positions.
Dean Symons had the other small wheel riders wondering which way he had gone, with a clean sweep of wins in dominant fashion.Second and third positions were shared between Billy King and Dan Mundell with the latter unfortunatly crashing out of the top three in race 3.Luke Oldfield ,James Ford ,Brendon Cooper and Harry Davey filled the top six positions .
The Big Wheel group was a more consistant affair with Olly Jones first,Josh Taylor second and Jason Brooke third in each race.Recently upgraded Jamie Buckingham powered himself to fourth overall with some impressive rides . Ryan Lock had a great start in race 3 to gain some good points on the day, pipping Cole Baker Edwards to fifth place by a single point !
Holeshot Harry Sellwood,won the seniors depite loseing a grip in race one. 2 stroke mounted Tommy Alba chased him hard all day taking the race one win and a brace of seconds.Luke Smith took third after Ben Butler had a nasty off in race two. Improving rider Ayrton Gordon got better race by race to take fifth on the day 1 point in front of young Jack Stevens.
Open bikes roared around the sticky track with ease in the AMX group,There were three different race winners,but the overall was taken by Harry Mitchell, Last race winner Aaron Austin in second and Shaun Kersey third. Jon Beer raced to a great fifth on his big new Yamaha 450 .
