TIVERTON 3RD CLUB CHAMPS 2010

The sun was shining on South West motocross club for its third club championship meeting at the fantastic Tiverton motopark last weekend. The track which was graded and watered on saturday and sunday was in perfect condition for the 170+ riders who booked in. whilst neighbouring clubs cancelled the commitee of Southwest pulled out all the stops to put on a class meeting for their members and visitors alike.

17 auto racers rode a slightly shortened track,but there was no shortage of talent.With a different winner each time out Jordan Hayman was the overall victor,slighty more consistant than the duo of Louis Kessell and Morgan Timms who were equal on points.Cody Berry snatched a 2nd place finish in race 3,to help his points for 5th overall .

Junior riders Aiden williams and Jack Booker battled it out at the front ,Jack crashing out from race 2 and ruleing himself out of a victory. Young Matt Treen obviously loved the track and was consistant all day to finish in the runner up position.Alfie crocker stayed in front of Henry Bees and Jordan Allen for 3rd. Jordan on a Suzuki put some colour in amoungst the ktms with a couple of great rides.

Visiting somerset riders Todd Kellet and Bradley Rowe took the top positions in the small wheels ahead of North Devons Dan Mundell.Dan taking some great holeshots ahead of Todd which were short lived,Todd soon sweapt past and made the races his own.Behind, Brendon Cooper,Luke oldfield and Joe Eiffert shared the race positions.

A near full lineup of Bigwheels was headed by Harry Sherman on his KTM in the first two outings just beaten by Olly Jones also riding the orange brand in race 3. Maverick Smith kept his Honda just in front of George Burrows and Jamie Buckingham's 4 strokes. Returning from a long time away Barnstaple's Marley Howlett raced his Yamaha into the top six with two great rides.

No one could lookat Senior Harry Sellwood's 2010 Honda as he led from the gate and dissappered .Behind in the points was Ty Kellet,riding a 2 stroke YZ,he battled his way past Ben Butler and Aaron Jenkins from fairly average starts to take 2nd overall,also involved in some fantastic battles and bar to bar racing were Ben Denison,Rocky Lethaby and Jamie Orchard.

A full line up of open AMX riders was headed in race 1 by Greg Hanson and his brothers Rick and Keith ,charging hard behind were Wayne Shimmel and Ryan Pryer. as Greg wowed the crowd with a display of machine control at altitude,Ryan Pryer was riding realy hard on his 250 to stay ahead of Wayne Shimmel , but had to give him the position in the final laps as his arms pumped up.Race 2 was won by Rick Hanson after some team riding,Shimmel and Pryer next ,Colin Sellwood and Darren Toy 5th.Race 3 had a similar outcome resulting in the overall on the day Going to the consistant Wayne Shimmel .
